Location. On the lateral aspect of the leg, 7 cun above the tip of the lateral malleolus, on the posterior border of the fibula.

The name marks where the Gallbladder line is said to cross the Yang Link Vessel, and classical lists record it as the xi-cleft point of that vessel. Xi-cleft is a category name for a point, not a statement about what needling it accomplishes.
