Dadun dà dūn · 大敦

Location. On the great toe, 0.1 cun from the corner of the nail, on the lateral side of the distal phalanx.

Category. Jing-Well point 井穴

The Liver channel starts here, at the corner of the great toe nail. The name means "great mound" and records the fleshy prominence at the base of the toe. Classical lists mark it as the first point of the Foot Jueyin line; the record is of position and sequence, not of an outcome.

定位。在足大趾末节外侧,距趾甲角0.1寸(指寸)。

特定穴。Jing-Well point 井穴

肝经起于足大趾趾甲角旁。穴名「大敦」记大趾本节之丰隆丘状。古典文献以此为足厥阴之第一穴;所记为部位与起止次第,不涉及疗效。

Classical record · not a treatment recommendation. Needling technique is a licensed practitioner's skill and is out of scope here.
Beside the nail bed on the toe, where the skin is thin and the tissue is close to bone. Classical texts describe only very shallow needling or moxa here. Not a self-care technique.
