Jimai jí mài · 急脉

Location. In the inguinal region, inferior and lateral to the pubic tubercle, 2.5 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

The name is explained in the classical commentaries as referring to the strong pulse that can be felt at this spot, which is why the point is named for the vessel rather than for a locality. The earliest lists place it in the groin beside the pubic bone.

定位。在腹股沟区,耻骨结节外下方,前正中线旁开2.5寸。

古典注家释「急脉」为此处脉动应手甚急,故以脉名穴而非以部位名穴。早期文献即将其列于耻骨旁之腹股沟处。

Classical record · not a treatment recommendation. Needling technique is a licensed practitioner's skill and is out of scope here.
This is the most sensitive point in the set. It lies in the groin over the femoral vessels, and classical texts themselves warn against needling it. Pressure here is normally used only to locate the pulse. Not a self-care technique under any circumstance.
