Baichongwo bǎi chóng wō · 百虫窝

Location. On the medial aspect of the thigh, 3 cun above the base of the patella, on the bulge of the vastus medialis muscle; 1 cun above Xuehai (SP10).

The name means the nest of a hundred insects. It is a name drawn from the way itching and skin complaints were imagined in older Chinese writing, and not a description of anything found at the site; the reader should not take it literally. Later texts discuss the point in that context. Its effects are not established by modern research, and this entry makes no claim of benefit.
